  • Job Summary

    Assists the Director of Pharmacy in the planning, management, and coordination of the Pharmacy 340(b) Drug Pricing Program for all qualified entities of Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Such management and coordination includes assuring qualifications for the program are met and maintained, the program is fully implemented in all areas of qualification, including covered entities and contracted pharmacies; related records are complete and accurate; and that it meets all primary objectives as defined by leadership.

    Core Responsibilities

     Maintains 340(b) competency through continuing education courses pertaining to 340b compliance and Pharmacy based education as on an ongoing basis. Conducts ongoing 340b program training for staff.


    Reviews invoices routinely to rectify GPO purchased medications versus 340B/WAC purchased. Ensures accurate 340b banked eligible inventory for medications listed on the Sentry website. Determines eligibility of drugs to be purchased under the program. Works with pharmacy staff to purchase eligible pharmaceuticals and manage inventory


    Develops compliance and purchase record reports as per Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s 340(b) policies and procedures. Participates in the analysis and interpretation of 340(b) pricing trends.


    Works with Finance and Leadership to ensure Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s compliance with the HRSA Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) regulations related to the 340(b) drug pricing program. Collaborates with the finance, revenue cycle, ADT (admission/discharge/transfer) departments and IT department to monitor changes that could affect 340(b) qualifications


    Utilize Canton Potsdam Hospital’s 340(b) software program (Sentinel) to perform the following which is not inclusive: audits, inventory management, drug mapping, clinic additions/removals, file transfers, & training modules.


    Ensures Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s policies and procedures for the 340(b) program are reviewed for internal compliance. Performs audits, both internal and external compliance assessments to validate processes.


    Required:            Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other databases


    Preferred:           Health care or pharmacy experience preferred

                              Knowledge of 340(b) drug pricing program preferred
